Michael James Suire

A native of Gretna, LA and resident of New Iberia, formerly of Port Sulphur, Michael passed away at 1:07 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.

Michael was raised in Port Sulphur where he was affectionately known as “Big Mike” and was very involved as a Junior Fireman. He enjoyed rap and was a huge fan of wrestling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his mother and step father, Peggy Wilson Bass and Andrew “Andy” Bass of New Iberia; father and step mother, William Suire, Jr. and Rita Suire of Port Sulphur, one sister, Suzanne Suire of New Iberia; one step brother, Andrew Bass of Deritter and his maternal grandfather, Jack George of Columbia, MS.

He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Freddie Wilson, Maternal Grandmother, Merle George and his Paternal Grandparents, William Suire, Sr, and Adea Suire.
