Melvin was born April 19, 1934 in Iberia Parish to the late Agricol Landry and the late Octavia Theriot Landry. He had a career that spanned over four decades with J & L Engineering in Jeanerette. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, and it didn’t matter where, as long as he was able to go. Above all, his family was his life and he cherished the time spent with them. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Rosa Mae Prince Landry; his daughter and son, Tammy Greenlee and Tommy Landry; son-in-law, Van Miller, Sr.; five grandchildren, Braylynn Viator, Tristian Miller, Van Miller, Jr., Sebastian Miller and Samantha “Sami” Perez; five great grandchildren, Avery Viator, Nathan Viator, Wyatt Viator, Kyah Lemon and Grayson Lemon; his brother-in-law, Roger Dale Prince, Sr.; and his sisters-in-law.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Landry Miller; his son-in-law, Joseph Greenlee; and his siblings.
Private services will be held for Uncle Pete and he will be laid to rest at Beau Pre’ Memorial Park Cemetery.
