Mary Babineaux Dautreuil

NEW IBERIA –A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Howard Antoine Dautreuil, Sr., the former Mary Babineaux, age 91, at 2:00 pm Monday, April 6, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am on Monday until service time with a Rosary at 10:00 am.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dautreuil passed away at 2:00 pm on, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Consolata Nursing Home.

Mrs. Dautreuil was a loving wife, mother, aunt and great aunt to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, trips to the casino. She will be remembered by her family for her meals of delicious, juicy “pot roast”, butterbeans, lemon pies and chocolate delight, which were always served with love.

She is survived by her son, Antoine Howard “Butch” Dautreuil, Jr. of New Iberia and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Antoine Dautreuil, Sr.; parents, Alcee and Adoliska Romero Babineaux;three brothers, Fred, Clarence and Francis Babineaux and four sisters, Yolande Viator, Dot Dautreuil, Emily Anclet and Rose Migues.

Pallbearers will be Kim P. Migues, Justin LaBry, Orsen Daigle, Bert Migues, Brandon Maturin and Keegan LaBry. Antoine Howard “Butch” Dautreuil, Jr., Alvin Maturin, Zane Migues, Logan Daigle, C.J. Babineaux, Allen Dautreuil, Drake LaBry and Bobby Babineaux will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
