Margery Bayard

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Margery Bayard, age 93, at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 12:00 PM on Saturday and visitation will continue until service time.

A native of Avery Island and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bayard passed away at 4:25 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Iberia Extended Care Facility.

Mrs. Bayard was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting, gardening, cooking and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Margery Kohnke and husband Morris of Madisonville, LA, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Bayard; son, William Bayard; daughter, Eva LeBlanc and sisters, Dorothy Desormeaux and Warren Bruce.

Pallbearers will be Chris Kohnke, Kenneth Kohnke, William Bayard, James Bayard, Mark LeBlanc and Billy Tamplain.
