A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Loralei “Lori” Decuir Brasseaux, age 55, at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Garrett Savoie will officiate. She will be laid to rest at St. Michael’s Cemetery in St. Martinville.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home.
Lori was born on September 20, 1967 in New Iberia, LA to the late Albert Anthony "Duke" Decuir and Carolyn Lasseigne Decuir. She passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital.
Lori was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She was a graduate of St. Martinville Senior High in 1985 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in education from USL in 1991. Her love for the children she taught at Coteau Elementary, North Lewis, Maltrait Memorial, St. Bernard, St. Edward and Catholic High will long be remembered by all of her children and colleagues.
On her time off she enjoyed camping, reconnecting with her past and present co-workers, spoiling her grandson and spending time with the ones she loved.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Patrick Brasseaux; daughter, Ali Klentzman Heard and husband Christopher and their son, Asher; son, Grant Klentzman; mother, Carolyn Lasseigne Decuir; brother, Albert “Dukey” Decuir, Jr. and step son, Lance Brasseaux.
Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Gracie Michelle Brasseaux.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
