Linda David Hood, age 76, of Franklin, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at West Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 10, 1948, in New Iberia to the late Randolph and Lula Mae Peltier David, Linda lived a life marked by warmth, talent, and devotion.
Linda was a true embodiment of grace and kindness, known for her radiant personality and boundless creativity. A true Jack-of-all-trades, she was never one to shy away from hard work. Her green thumb was legendary, particularly in her flourishing Orchids, a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her love for plants and pets was only surpassed by her deep affection for her family.
An exceptional cook, Linda had the remarkable ability to turn simple ingredients into extraordinary from-scratch meals that delighted her family and friends alike. Her home was always filled with the aroma of lovingly prepared dishes, a reflection of her generosity and culinary prowess.
One of Linda’s most cherished traditions was the "Sunday Sisters" get-together, a monthly gathering of female family members that she looked forward to with great anticipation. These Sundays were a cherished time of connection, laughter, and shared memories.
Linda’s legacy lives on through her family, who will remember her not only for her many talents but also for the love and joy she brought into their lives. She leaves behind a profound impact and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 22 years Gary Mitchell “Mitch” Hood; children, Michael Wright and wife Andrea; Chad Wright and wife Robin; Amanda Kay Wright, Grant Hood and wife Erica, Allison Hood, Porter Wright and wife Dana, and family, and Debbie Bohannan and husband Dennis, and family; grandchildren, Allison Hebert and husband Trey, Cameron Wright, Gavin and Abbie Hood, Enzo and Otto Guadagnoli-Hood, Ophelia, Settimio, Fiammetta, Salvatore, Persephone and Valentino Guadagnoli, Sarah Ring and husband Brendan, Brittany Demmon, Caitlin Melancon, and Keith Fatheree; one great-grandchild, Esther Ring, and one sister, Pamela David Crochet, and husband Malcolm.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Garrett Kayne Wright; one sister, Nancy Lee Ford and one brother, Randall David.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Durk Viator will officiate.
Visiting hours will be observed on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Evangeline Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
