NEW IBERIA - Funeral services will be celebrated for Larry Anthony Guillotte, age 81, at 11:00 am on Saturday July 14, 2018 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Korey Lavergne will officiate. Mr. Larry will be laid to rest with his wife at Holy Family Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Saturday from 8:30 am until time of services.
Larry was born September 24, 1936 in St. Mary Parish to the late Alvin “Blue” Guillotte and the late Martha Hebert Guillotte, and passed away peacefully Sunday, July 08, 2018 at Iberia Medical Center.
Larry was retired as a District Boat Foreman with Texaco after many years of faithful service. Prior to his career in the oilfield, he farmed sugar cane with his father on Crawford Plantation, his family farm, near Glencoe. Some of his favorite pastimes include fishing and raising horses, and playing baseball. Larry won numerous trophies in both baseball and softball and was named to many All-Star teams during those years. Above all, he was a family man dedicated to their love and care and he will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Dovie Guillotte Champagne and Gregory Champagne; grandchildren, Matthew Champagne, and Michelle Champagne and fiancée Anthony Stuhldreher; his great grandchild, Madden Cashat; and his sisters, Lois Powell, Norma Prince and husband Russel, Diane Ryals, Fay Coots and husband Donnie, Lori Scelfo and husband Tony; and his brother-in-law, Roy Louviere.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Montandon Guillotte; his son, Todd Anthony Guillotte; his sister, Emily Louviere; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Powell and Dewey Ryals.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Champagne, Matthew Champagne, Tony Stuhldreher, Sam Domingue, Tony Scelfo, and Troy Prince. Donnie Coots will serve as honorary pallbearer.
