It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry Paul Dugan, 75, who left us on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 7:25 p.m. Larry was born on September 20, 1949, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to the late Walter “T-Man” and Hilda LeBlanc Dugan.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era, where he earned numerous awards, including the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, the Combat Action Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal. His service was a testament to his courage, honor, and dedication to his country.
After his time in the Navy, Larry worked for 40 years at Winn Dixie Grocery Store in New Iberia, where he served as Assistant Manager. His commitment to his work and his colleagues made him a beloved figure in the community.
Larry was a devoted New Orleans Saints fan, whose passion for the team was matched only by his love of country music. He cherished the time he spent going on cruises and visiting the casino with his wife, but above all, it was the moments spent with his family that brought him the most joy.
Larry's warm spirit, dedication, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to those closest to him.
May Larry rest in peace, knowing he was loved beyond measure.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters, Misty Dugan Geoffroy and husband Grady and Shelley Dugan Delahoussaye and husband Joshua; his grandchildren, Luci Elaine G. Fontenot and husband Jonah; Mason Jules Maturin; Asher Paul Delahoussaye, Georgia Claire Delahoussaye and Elaine Marie Delahoussaye; one sister, Janet Dugan Landry and one brother, Joey James Dugan.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Tonia Boudreaux Dugan.
