NEW IBERIA – A memorial service celebrating the life of Kerry Michael Davis will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 11, 2017 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the Iberia Veterans Honor Guard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service.
Kerry was born July 27, 1950 in New Iberia to the late Danny Davis and Jewella Landry Davis, and passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017. He was 67.
Kerry was retired from the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office and held a career in Law Enforcement that spanned many decades. In his earlier years, he worked with Acadian Ambulance. Some of Kerry’s pastimes were riding motorcycles with Jody, visiting with his friends in the department, and going to the gun range.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Jody Viator Davis; his sons, Kerry Matthew “Matt” Davis and wife Allison and Nicholas Davis; his grandchildren, Collin, Kaylee and Christian Davis; his brothers and sister, Steve Davis and wife Anna, Nancy Davis Smith and husband Ross, and Ralph Davis; a brother and sister-in-law, Corey Viator and Nancy Viator Davis; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Viator.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Carl Ditch and Dr. Timothy Viator, AAA Home Health, and Ken Champagne at LTAC for their care and compassion shown to Kerry.
