Judy Boudreaux Comeaux

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. J. L. Comeaux, the former Judy Boudreaux, age 75, at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Nicholas DuPre officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 10:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Comeaux passed away at 7:37 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Comeaux was well known and loved for her sense of humor and her ability to laugh at anything. She was a loyal friend to many, and was greatly loved for her compassion and generosity. Her enjoyment of the arts was obvious in the time she spent making jewelry, painting, and drawing. One of her favorite pastimes was playing card games, such as Bourre`, Casino, and Hearts, with her family and friends. Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the loyal companionship of Rex, her beloved Jack Russell Terrier. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Jay Comeaux and longtime companion Dr. Joni Drost of Lake Charles, Jessica Comeaux of New Iberia, and Joseph “Joey” Comeaux, II and wife Robin of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Jon Fuselier and wife Mandi, Justin Fuselier and wife Lexxi, and Jayla Renee Comeaux; great grandchildren, Jasper Fuselier and Jace Fuselier; brother, Nelson Boudreaux of New Iberia; and sisters, Hazel Delahoussaye and Mazie Landry.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Dr. J. L. Comeaux; daughter, Joelle Comeaux; son, Jon Comeaux; brother, Wilson “Sonny” Boudreaux; and sister, Elia Boudreaux Culp.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Landry, Jimmy Landry, Paul Landry, Joseph Landry, Kenneth “Brother” Boudreaux, Bill Boudreaux, Nelson Boudreaux, Sweet Delahoussaye, and Errol Delahoussaye.
