John Magnus Conner

RYNELLA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. John Magnus Conner , age 93, at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Fr. Kendal Faulk officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native of Cameron Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Conner passed away at 2:10 pm on, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Belle Teche Nursing and Rehab.

Mr. Conner owned and operated an Oyster Shop with his wife in Cameron for many years. After their retirement in 1993 they moved to New Iberia to be closer to their children and allow him to spoil his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church. He often would say, “I love my family

and family is love.”

He is survived by his daughter, Mona C. Stevens and husband Ira “Pete” Stevens, Sr.; daughter in law, Helen Conner all of New Iberia; one sister, Lucille C. Rodrigues of Berwick; eight grandchildren, Danelle Frederick, Zachary Stevens, Randall Stevens, Craig Stevens, Dawn Stevens Bentley, Ira P. Stevens, Jr., Christopher Stevens and Brent Conner; twenty great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren and two great great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Oline Touchet Conner; two sons, Wilfred Conner and John Baptist “JP” Conner; parents, Numau and Dora Conner; two granddaughters, Susan Conner and Elizabeth Conner; five brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Stevens, Randall Stevens, Craig Stevens, Ira P. Stevens, Jr., Christopher Stevens and Brent Conner.

Don Romero, Alex Romero, Zachary Stevens, Jr., Dean Bentley, Derrick Bentley, Randall Stevens, Jr., Jeremy Stevens, Jonathon Cote and David Stevens will serve as honorary pallbearers.
