Jeanette Robicheaux Theriot

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Joseph Theriot, the former Jeanette Robicheaux, age 74, at 10:00 am on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Fr. Garret Savoy officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm by the Men’s Rosary Group. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until the time of services.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Theriot passed away at 10:47 am on Wednesday August 26, 2015 at her home in the presence of her immediate family.

Survivors include her children, Shelley Theriot Hammond and husband Carl, Darryl Theriot and fiancé Maggie Ramirez, and Dwayne Theriot all of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Raven Hammond, Joseph "Joey" Theriot, Clinton "CJ" Hammond and Fiancé Mavis Blanchard, and Jordan Theriot all of Lafayette; two great-grandchildren, Cohen Hammond and Braxton Cazalot; three sisters, Anna Lee Abshire and husband Elwood of Youngsville, Lois Rivette of Youngsville, and Lisa Credeur of New Iberia; and sister-in-law, Theresa Theriot Picard Peltier of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband and childhood sweetheart of 51 years, Joseph Theriot of Lafayette; parents, Leeward and Anna Mae Bourque Robicheaux; and mother and father-in-law, Clay and Julianne Theriot.

Pallbearers will be Darryl Theriot, Dwayne Theriot, Carl Hammond, Jordan Theriot, Joseph “Joey” Theriot, and Clinton “C.J” Hammond.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her caregivers, Tori Barras Bertrand and Tina Boone Bourque for the love and care shown during her illness and in her final weeks.
