Hazel Boudreaux Delahoussaye

NEW IBERIA – Memorial funeral services for Hazel Boudreaux Delahoussaye will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Nicholas DuPre' will officiate. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Saturday, September 19th from 9:00 am until services.

Hazel was born October 12, 1922 in Iberia Parish to the late Gabriel Boudreaux and the late Maria Landry Boudreaux. She passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center with her family at her side.

Mrs. Hazel worked many years as a bookkeeper in retail clothing in various stores in New Iberia. Her favorite pastimes were playing card games, dominoes and marbles with her family and friends. She leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Whitney J. “Sweet” Delahoussaye, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Lafayette, Errol A. Delahoussaye and wife Charlotte of Crowley, and Lana Delahoussaye of Baldwin; a daughter-in-law, Linda Delahoussaye of New Iberia; grandchildren, Stacie Loyd, Bryan Delahoussaye, Ivy Delahoussaye, Jr., Tiffany Deranger, Scott Delahoussaye, Jamie Delahoussaye, Holly Delahoussaye, Becky Delahoussaye, Ryan Delahoussaye and Sean Delahoussaye; 16 great grandchildren; and her sister and brother, Mazie Landry and Nelson Boudreaux both of New Iberia.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ivy L. Delahoussaye, Sr., her former husband, Whitney J. Delahoussaye, Sr., and her sisters and brother, Elia Boudreaux Culp, Judy Boudreaux Comeaux, and Wilson “Sonny” Boudreaux.
