NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Hayward Paul Leleux, age 89, at 1:30 pm Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by VWF Post #1982.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 am until 9:00 pm on Wednesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Thursday until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Leleux passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at 11:15 am at Kingsley Place at Lafayette.
Mr. Leleux was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus-Council 7050, VFW Post #1982 and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Leleux was a mechanic in the Automobile Industry for many years and the owner of Leleux’s Grocery on Highway 14.
He is survived by his three sons, Perry Leleux and his wife Gail of Loreauville; Michael H. Leleux and his wife Marcia of Woodworth and Tommy A. Leleux and his wife Judy of Broussard; one daughter, Jonelle L. Guidry and husband Haywood, Jr. of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren, Perry Paul Leleux, Jr; Amy L. Ponti; Dr. Jon D. Leleux; Josh M. Leleux; Dr. Kyla L. Lokitz; Todd M. Leleux; Kimberly L. Fontenot; Laurie R. Noel; Monty Richard; Anne Marie Guidry; Jeremy Guidry; Jonathon Guidry; Simone L. Stevens and Andre’ C. Leleux; thirty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mr. Leleux is also survived by two sisters, Lutha L. Mouton of New Iberia and June L. Sonnier of Longview, TX.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Mae Dore Leleux; second wife, Mary Aucoin Leleux; third wife, Lou Ella Toups Leleux; his parents, Paul Dewy and Ita Broussard Leleux and one sister, Liz Mary L. Tilly.
Pallbearers will be Perry Paul Leleux, Dr. Jon D. Leleux, Josh M. Leleux, Todd M. Leleux, Monty Richard and Ross Stevens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andre’ Leleux, Jonathon Guidry, Jeremy Guidry, Billy Toups, Robbie Toups, Ray Domingue and Wayne LaBiche.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Leleux’s name to, St. Mary’s Residential Training Facility; P.O. Box 7768-Alexandria, LA 71306.
