Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home for Enrique Escoto, age 68. Fr. Ed Degeyeter will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.
The family requests visitation be observed Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 10:00 am until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 pm.
Enrique was born on March 22, 1955 in Colon, Honduras the late Jesus Escoto and Josefa Carcamo Escoto. He passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 4:28 pm at his residence surrounded by his family.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Fino Escoto; two sons, John Escoto and Luis Enrique Escoto; five daughters, Rebecca Escoto Trahan and husband Luke; Sara Escoto; Karen Escoto Orozco and husband Jose Luis; Cindy Escoto Martinez and husband Elio and Karla Escoto Frometa and husband Cadin; his grandchildren; Bryant Jimenez, Caitlin Jimenez, Alex Orozco, Alexandra Orozco, Luis Anthony Escoto, Adrianna Escoto, Isaac Martinez, David Martinez and Victoria Martinez; his great grandchildren, Leonard Jeremiah Escoto, Allison Jimenez, Ava Jimenez and Aiden Jimenez and one brother, Rafael Carcamo.
Born and raised in Colon, Honduras, Enrique moved to New Orleans in 1984 and eventually moved to New Iberia where he would soon meet the love of his life, Rose Mary. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on their strong faith.
Enrique was an avid soccer player who enjoyed playing soccer in Honduras and watching as much as possible here in the US. He was Commercial Truck Driver for many years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew and loved him.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are John Escoto Luis Enrique Escoto, Anthony Escoto, Luke Trahan, Elio Martinez and Bryant Jiminez.
