NEW IBERIA – A memorial service for Mrs. Michael Ray Morel, the former Elizabeth Ann Madeley, will be held on Friday April 7, 2023 at 10:00 am at The Church of Christ in New Iberia with Pastor Kenny Wayne Wright officiating.
Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park.
Born in Natchez, MS and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Morel died at 4:42 pm on Sunday March 26, 2023 at Iberia Medical Center. She was 58.
Elizabeth worked as a legal secretary for many years in New Orleans and New Iberia. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by family, friends, and her church family.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Ray Morel; sons, Dr. Brooks Babineaux (Alley) and Alex Babineaux; daughter, Hailey Babineaux Gilder (Ben); grandchildren, Luke Carter Babineaux and Emma Juliette Babineaux; parents, Milton Madeley , Jr. and Mildred Morrison Madeley; brother, Larry Madeley (Mary); and sister, Tamara Lynne Madeley Simpson (Emmett).
