NEW IBERIA- Dean LeBlanc, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, leaving a legacy of hard work, community service, and cherished memories. Dean was a dedicated oilfield worker and boat captain, navigating crew boats with skill and passion. His commitment extended to Cypermort Point, where he worked part-time as a groundkeeper, leaving an indelible mark on the places he touched.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Dean selflessly served as a volunteer firefighter at the Rynella Fire Department, embodying the spirit of community and courage. His love for cooking was well-known, and he often delighted family and friends with his culinary creations.
Dean found joy in the simple pleasures of life, bonding with his brother Bryan while fishing. He also enjoyed hunting for rabbits. His loyal companion, Roxie Girl, was more than a pet; she was a beloved member of the family. Dean's love for Roxie extended to carefully preparing her meals, a testament to the compassion he showered upon those close to him.
Dean is survived by his loving daughter, Brandy L. Delcambre, and husband Brendan; two sons, Dean Allen LeBlanc, Jr. and wife Michelle, and Brodie LeBlanc and wife Sasha. His eight grandchildren, Brendan Delcambre, Jr., Logan Johnson, Ma’Kenzey Johnson, Braxton Delcambre, Dean LeBlanc, III, Brodie LeBlanc, Jr., Bohen LeBlanc, and Sadie LeBlanc, were a constant source of joy and pride for him.
Dean is also survived by his brothers, Steve LeBlanc and Bryan LeBlanc, and wife Jeanette, as well as Patty Romero and husband Allen. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Breaux LeBlanc; parents, Easton and Enez Duplantis LeBlanc; and sister, Margie L. Bodin.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Evangeline Funeral Home. Visitation hours are scheduled for Friday, December 29, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan DeRouen will officiate.
Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Bearing Dean to his final resting place will be pallbearers Brodie LeBlanc, Brendan Delcambre, Sr., Brendan Delcambre, Jr., Logan Johnson, Tim Trahan and Gaige Langlinais.
Dean LeBlanc's memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
