Connie Cates Romero, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. At her passing she was 58.
Connie was born in Germany to the late Howard Cates and the late Carol Schratz Cates, one of two children born to that union.
She held a career in the Finance business for over 20 years. Outside of her career, she spent her time enjoying her favorite pastimes and surrounding herself with family and friends. Ricky shared her love of camping and the great times they had at the many Louisiana state parks they’ve visited. One of her favorites was Cajun Palms, just a short distance away, and a weekend of fun and family. She was also an avid Saints fan and Nascar Fan, and often relaxed to her favorite TV shows on the history channel and cooking channel. And speaking of cooking, she prepared some of the best dishes around. Her chicken alfredo and pasta dishes were favorites of her family.
We will certainly miss Connie’s beautiful smile, but will hold her memory close to our hearts forever. Rest well Connie, We love you.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband and best friend of 30 years, Ricky Romero; her children, Chris White, Louis Rohrer and Laura Nickson; her grandchildren, Grace Rohrer, Bella Rohrer, Hunter Rohrer, Wesley White and Michael White; her brother, Wayne Cates; her brother-in-law, Ken Romero; her sister-in-law, Tina Romero Mire and husband Scotty; nieces, Annamaye Romero, Taylor Barras, Bryanna Romero, and William Romero; aunt-in-law, Gladice Broussard; and great grandmother in-law, Rena.
