Clarence L. "C.L." Broussard

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Clarence L. (CL) Broussard, age 93, at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will be held Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday with a Rosary at 11:00 am.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Broussard passed away at 7:15 am on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Consolata Nursing Home.

He was an usher at St. Peter’s for many years. He was a Shell Oil Co. retiree and also had a lawn mower repair service at home. In his younger days, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to dance.

Mr. Broussard is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia C. Broussard; his daughters, Sylvia B. Pete and husband Billy and Helen B. Arceneaux; his son, Clarence Broussard; brothers, John E. Broussard and wife Gloria and Wade Broussard; sister, Louella Landry; his step sons, Teddy Bourque and wife Marian and Danny Bourque and wife Bridget; grandchildren, Merlin Comeaux, Jr. and wife Donna; Cindy Boutte and husband Kim; Claire Jolet and husband Ray; Perry Comeaux and wife Rachel; Glenn Comeaux and wife Jenny; Dale Comeaux; Pam Comeaux and husband Timmy; Steven Comeaux; Jason Comeaux; Shane Comeaux; Debbie Burke and husband Joe; Brad Ridge and wife Suzie; Eddie Ridge and wife Carolyn; Mark Ridge; Laurie B. Migues and husband Shannon; Lisa P. Kelly and husband Frank and Bobby Broussard; step grandchildren, Jennifer M. Bourque, Andi Rae Bourque; Renee D. Bourque; Kristi B. Comeaux and husband Kraig and Adam J. Bourque and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first loving wife, Aureline G. Broussard; his daughter, Irene B. Comeaux; father, Aymar Broussard; mother, Elmire Borel Broussard; sisters, Doris Broussard, Dot B. Prince; brother, Tilden Broussard; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Pete, Teddy Bourque, Shannon Migues, Kim Boutte, Perry Comeaux and George Reeves.
