NEW IBERIA – A Memorial Mass will be conducted for Christy Lynn Dauterive, age 55, at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Derise will be the celebrant for the service. Inurnment will be held privately at St. Michael’s Cemetery in St. Martinville.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, Christy, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at her sister’s residence in Youngsville.
Christy was a very happy person who loved listening to music and spending time with her family. Christy was blessed with a special spirit. Her spirit exhubered daily the simple love and care for others along with the excitement for life which pleases God. She was an inspiration and reminder for many who were blessed to have her in their lives.
Christy is survived by her parents, Larry and Doris “Dot” Breaux Dauterive, Sr. of New Iberia; one sister, Pam D. Breaux and her husband Mike of Youngsville; and three brothers, Craig Dauterive and his wife BJ of Houston, Glenn Dauterive and his wife Barbara of Lafayette, and Larry Dauterive,Jr. and his wife Kay of LaPlace. She is also survived by three nieces, Jamie Andrews and her husband Garry, Dionne Duhe’ and her husband Kevin, Ashley Derouen and her husband Chris; four nephews, Sean Dauterive and his wife Lori, Cory Dauterive and his wife Shelly, Joshua Brooks, and Jacob Breaux; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Alexander Dassas and Estelle Mouton Breaux, Sr.
and paternal grandparents, Robert and Euphemie Girouard Dauterive, Sr.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many people who were so special to Christy; her caregivers Christine Bourque and Ingrid Spencer, Heart of Hospice, especially Chanda Ardoin, Melissa Jacobs, Maria Menard, and Leah Lominick for their dedication and care of Christy. A special thanks also to the ladies and staff of the Vern Trahan Group Home, her neighbors and friends, Beth and Chuck Stafford; and special friend, Mike Brooks, for their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heart of Hospice.
