Betty Miguez Spivey

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Betty Miguez Spivey, age 80, at 3:00 pm Monday, May 2, 2011, at Evangeline Funeral Home. Her great grandson, John Reynaud will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am Monday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Spivey passed away at 11:52 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her residence.

Ms. Spivey is survived by daughter, Sharon Spivey Burke and husband Richard of New Iberia; son, Walter “Drew” Spivey and wife Ann of Houston; six grandchildren, Michelle Elizabeth Arnold and husband Mike; Shane Rogers and wife Brandy all of New Iberia; Brooke Spivey and Brittany Spivey of Houston; Colton Rogers and wife Amie of Erath and Coy Burke and wife Katie of Youngsville and eleven great grandchildren; John Reynaud; Joshua Reynaud; Aysha Reynaud; Maci Rogers; Kara Boutte; Tyler Rogers; Zane Rogers; Logan Burke; Alyssia Burke; Lauren Burke and Destiny Boudreaux. She is also survived by her niece, Sydney Landry and husband Ronnie of Jeanerette and nephew Terry Bourque of New Iberia and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Octavia Escagne Miguez and one sister, Mary Angelina Miguez Bourque and her husband Rufus.

Pallbearers will be Shane Rogers, Colton Rogers, Coy Burke, John Reynaud, Joshua Reynaud and Tyler Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brooke Spivey, Brittany Spivey, Aysha Reynaud, Maci Rogers and Kara Boutte.
