Agnes Landry Derouen

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Oscar Joseph Derouen, the former Agnes Landry, age 95, at 10:00 am Monday, March 25, 2013 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Msgr. Richard Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Derouen passed away at 4:48 am on Friday, March 22, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara LeBlanc, Patricia Romero and Carolyn Romero all of New Iberia and Janell Ray and husband James “Corky” Ray of St. Martinville; ten grandchildren, Suzanne Prince and husband Brian; Donna Cassisa and husband Vincent; Mona Romero Suire; Keith Romero; Kirk Romero and wife Wendy; Christopher Romero; Kim Romero and wife Shantel; Neal Joseph Bourque; Marilee Nicole Ray and Tina Marie Ray; nineteen great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren; one brother Wilfred Landry of Eunice and one sister Anita Broussard of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Joseph Derouen; Parents, Aliba Pierre and Levi Bourque Landry; infant daughter, Josephine Derouen; a granddaughter, Racheal Romero; a grandson, Karl Bourque; cousin, Clarence Joseph “CJ” Bourque; 3 brothers, Willie Landry, Harry Landry, Sr. and Raymond Landry and two sisters, Mabel Peltier and Alexis Landry.

Pallbearers will be Keith Romero, Kirk Romero, Christopher Romero, Kim Romero, Jonathan Dorsey, Brayton Romero, Damon Suire and Bryce Ray.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Thadd Prince, Brock Prince, Ryan Prince and Drew Suire.
