Born on December 15, 1948 in New York City, Anthony, the son of Anthony and Carmela, grew up in Queens Village and, until recently, lived in Garden City Park, NY. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for nearly 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; children Daniel (Monica) Coscino, Terrence Coscino, and William Coscino; siblings Salvatore (Peggi) Coscino, Marilyn (Wayne) Armstrong, and Joyce (Joseph) Schuler; in-laws Ann Thifault, John (Judi) Hannan, Mairead (Thomas) Garvey as well as many nieces and nephews.
One of Anthony's greatest interests was sports. He coached Little League Baseball in New Hyde Park for over a decade. As a season ticket holder for the New York Mets and New York Rangers, he was there at Shea for Game 6 of the '86 Series, on hand at the Garden when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup in '94 and was always up for a trip with his sons to go see his favorite teams on the road.
Tony was a family man through and through. He lived to love and support his family. He strove to supply the happiest lives possible for his wife and sons. Anthony was at his happiest on family vacations to destinations from Scotland to Alaska which created memories he cherished until his final days.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, January 12, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Spirit Church in New Hyde Park at 9:30am on Wednesday, January 13. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
