Born in Albert Lea, Freeborn, Minnesota. Ruth graduated from Albert Lea High and enjoyed attending several class reunions. She worked as a Bookkeeper at Wilson’s in Albert Lea prior to marriage. Ruth married Raynerd Henry Peterson on May 3, 1946. Ruth and Ray lived most of their fifty-five years together in southern Minnesota and New Hope Minnesota.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Raynerd; sister, Harriet Connors, sister, June Riis; brother, Edward Hanson.
Survived by three daughters: Sandra (Joseph) Vlasek, Susan (James) Hoseth and Donna (James) Frein. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Karl) Wachtendorf, Jonathon (Maggy McKinlay-Vlasek) Vlasek, Peter (Anna Beadle) Hoseth, Timothy (Tonia Luk) Hoseth, Amanda (Matt) Fowles, Andrea Frein, and Brenton (Kellie) Frein. Great Grandchildren: Brian, Nicole, Dillon, Stella, Grady, Braylin, Landry, Isla and Sayer, relatives and friends.
Ruth treasured her family and friends; a neighborhood bible study for 30 years, bible study at Calvary Lutheran Church and Legacy Pointe in Waukee, Iowa, picnics, camping, Silver Sneakers exercise group, shopping and many social activities. Ruth moved to West Des Moines, Iowa in 2006 to be close to Donna and her family. She loved visits and phone calls from Sandra, Susan and their families. The KIDS were together for Christmas, in fulfillment of her last wish.
