Lorraine Phyllis Boehm (of Crystal MN & Christchurch England), age 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, after a long courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Lorraine was a beloved wife, incredible mother, devoted Nana, amazing sister, wonderful auntie, treasured friend. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. Her joy for life, joy for her family, joy for her friends & indomitable spirit will continue to live on in each of us. Lorraine helped us to strive for more, achieve more, fight for each other, do more for others, love unconditionally, for that we are truly grateful. To have known her is to have known greatness.
Lorraine was born in Christchurch England, went back and forth, and then remained Stateside, where Arthur & Eileen settled in California, raising their 5 children. Lorraine met Jerry her beloved husband, and our wonderful dad in San Francisco & the rest is history. They had many wonderful adventures together over their 57-year marriage. Amongst Lorraine’s many achievements, she earned her Bachelor’s degree with honors, was published in the Who’s Who & had a long successful career as a Computer Programmer Analyst, working at ITT Life, Logis, & the Crystal Police Department. Lorraine had a wickedly, witty sense of humor, was a ferocious reader, somehow knew the answers to the Expert level crosswords, her extensive knowledge of all subjects far & wide, loved to share her affection for her home in England, her family there, English tea, English history, California, family games, playing cards, food & wine. We will miss her deeply.
Lorraine joins her father Arthur & mother Eileen Peel, her sister Kathryn Tovar and dear friends & family in Heaven, where they are sure to be spending their days laughing, playing trivial pursuit (the original) where she will undoubtedly know every single answer regardless of category, while enjoying a nice hot cup of tea together. Lorraine is lovingly remembered by her soulmate Gerald Boehm; her children Geoffrey Boehm, & Gabrielle (Duane) Wienke; her grandchildren Grant (Claudia) Girod, & Ian Girod; left with decades of fond and colorful memories are her siblings Garth Peel (Eli), Lance (Christine) Peel, & Valerie Matthews; her uncle Michael (Sharen) Newman; numerous cousins & family in the UK; many Nieces & Nephews; and her cherished friends.
A Mass for Lorraine will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Church of the Sacred Heart, 4087 West Broadway Avenue, Robbinsdale, Minnesota 55422 with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. A light lunch will be served following the mass. Interment will be at 12:30 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue S, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The family would like to thank Hospice Accent Care for their compassion & support they showed our loved one in her final days.
We would like to thank & express our deep appreciation for all the acts of kindness shown us upon the death of our Wife, Mother, Sister, Auntie, Nana & friend.
