Emily J. Szymanski

Her journey began over a century ago and ended peacefully with her last breath on November 1. Predeceased by John, her husband of 65 years, and sister Vi and brother George. She is survived by daughters, Beverly (Arnie) Hilger and Karen (Harold) Tillotson Bauer. "Gammy" was adored by her grandchildren: Lori (Craig) Tiffany, Jeff (Jeanne) Hilger, Chris and JJ Tillotson; her great grandchildren: Katelyn (Josh) Santos, Ellie Tiffany, Emily and Collin Hilger; and her great- great grandson Julian. Also surviving are a brother- and sister- in-law and several nieces and nephews, with particular thanks to Carol Whirley who regularly spread joy and love while visiting her "favorite Auntie." Emily was energetic and loved her work at Donaldson's and Dayton's Oval Room; at home she was a super mom and wife. She and John loved camping, fishing, cards, and travel, always making new friends while keeping the old. They loved their family deeply and with great pride. For the past 11 years she has been loved and cared for at St. Therese. A funeral mass will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Raphael Catholic Church 7301 Bass Lake Road, Crystal, MN 55428 in the Holy Spirit Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope, MN.
