Age 88, of North Minneapolis passed away 1/24/24.
Carol was born to Julia and Irving Phillips in 1935. She married Thomas Wolney in 1952 and they raised 8 children. She will be remembered as a creative and loving mom, grandma and great grandma. She was an avid reader, loved puzzles and old movies. She enjoyed singing, playing piano and sharing stories about her Ojibwe heritage. Her Catholic faith was paramount & her calling as a Secular Franciscan allowed her to touch many lives with her service. She had a sharp wit and a smile that lit up the room.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Tom; sisters, Doris Lindboe, Florence Healy; brother, Donald. She leaves behind a multitude of family including her sisters, Marguerite Baye, Jean (Arnie) Kunde; brother-in-law, Len Healy; children: Tom Jr. (Emelda), Julie Schleisman (George), Mona, Joe (Sue), Tim (Tamre), Maria Hamilton (Bob), Matt (Julie), Jess (Giovanni); 24 grandchildren, 33 & counting great-grandchildren, many nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. Her legacy is one of faith, family and humor.
Visitation Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4-7 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm at Kapala Glodek-Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Rd. New Hope.
Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4030 Jackson St. NE, Columbia Heights.
