William J. Neary

Willie was born on January 4, 1943 in NY, New York, to the late William and Mary Neary and was raised in the Inwood Section of Manhattan. It was there that he met the love of his life Geraldine (Gerrie), they were married for 53 years.

Willie was a United States Marine, who proudly served his country and was retired from the NYPD Transit Police and Private Security firms.

William moved his family to Rockland County in 1967 and raised their family in North Rockland.

William is the beloved husband of Geraldine Neary, he is survived by his sons, Michael (Annemarie), William (Ruth) and James Neary. His pride and joy were his three grandchildren, Mikaela, Liam and Matthew Neary.

He is also survived by his brothers, David (Lorraine), Douglas his sisters, Mary Doherty and Christine Bonnell (Charles), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara O'Hara and Margie Goetz.

He will be deeply missed and remembered for his quick laugh, his kindness, his devotion to his family and his friends. He was a devout Catholic and a truly generous, good and kind man.

Friends and family can pay their respects at Michael Higgins funeral home on Sunday, June 3 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont NY
