Vincent R. “Buddy” Parise passed away peacefully on December 24, 2016 at the age of 92. Vincent was the quintessential family man – a warm and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Always upbeat and positive, Vincent loved to laugh and tell stories, and his smile and encouraging words will be missed by many.
Born and raised in Staten Island, NY to Jennie (Longobardi) and James Parise on October 31, 1924, he was one of 8 children. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II where he earned several medals including a Purple Heart. Vincent married the love of his life, Lorraine Matthews, on December 9, 1951. He was long-time owner and operator of Parise Beverages on Staten Island, retired to Toms River, NJ, and recently relocated upon his wife’s passing to Nanuet, NY to be closer to his daughter. Mr. Parise was an active and popular member of the Meals on Wheels Clarkstown/Pearl River Senior Center.
Vincent was predeceased by his adoring wife Lorraine, son William, brother Joseph, and sisters Mary Jane Nutley and Julia Mercatelli. He will be deeply missed by his loving children, Virginia Ebner (Bill) and Vincent (Debra). Adoring grandchildren Anne-Marie (Jamie), Vincent (Jennifer), Mary (Derek), Valerie (Arthur), Kathryn (Matt) and Tricia (Frank). Great grandchildren Artie, Jordan, and Annaleigh. Brother Richard and sisters Barbara Reha, Rae Brunone, and Irene Viola. Many adoring nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, December 29th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A prayer service and military honors will follow the viewing at 7:00pm,
