Thomas Flavin

Thomas Flavin, 74 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 08, 2017. He was born on 08/11/1942 in County Kerry, Ireland. He lived there with his parents Eileen and Denis, sisters Eileen (Cahill), Rita (Crean) and brothers,John (deceased), Bob (deceased), Jim (deceased), Batt and Tony. Tom came to America as a teenager where he met his loving and devoted wife of 53 years,Mary Philomena (Carty) from County Sligo,Ireland. They set their roots in the Bronx in the parish of St. Nicholas of Tolentine where they raised four children, Eileen (Hagan) Tommy, Denis and Angela (Conwell).

In the later years they moved to Woodlawn and worshipped in St.Barnabas Parish. Tom was proud to work for The Carpenters Union Local 608 for 42 years.After retirement he relocated to New City, N.Y. where he worshipped in St.Francis of Assisi parish. Tom was an active and proud member of the Kerrymen’s P&B Association. He was a family man who loved a good joke,Irish music,cold pint of Guinness, cheering on the Yankees and the N.Y. Giants and of course following the Kerry Gaelic Football team. Tom was a brother-in-law to Joe Cahill (deceased),Joe Crean( deceased), Catherine, Maureen(deceased), Kathleen, Jose and Rita. Loving father-in-law to Sean Hagan, Michelle Blanck, Tonia Pangallo and Chuck Conwell. He was a proud grandfather to Kerry, Kasey, Thomas, Sean, Erin, Tara, Ryan,Michael, Patrick, Brendan and Declan.
