Thomas Dowd

Thomas E. Dowd, 77, of Chestnut Ridge, NY passed away on October 7, 2010. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Thomas was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (nee Curley), father to the late Thomas Jr. and brother to the late Dorothy Chorusey. Tom became an operating engineer with Local 14-14B in 1956, and served on the Executive Board from 1989-2002. He was master mechanic of World Trade Center towers from 1968 until his retirement in 2003. Tom is survived by devoted son, Keith and wife Caroline. His grandchildren Arden, Kallin, Chelsea, and Collin will dearly miss their Pop-Pop. Tom is also survived by sister Lorraine Kennedy (Mike), brother-in-laws, Vincent Chorusey, Michael Curley (Rosalie), John Curley (Dolores) and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday October 11, from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Higgins FH in New City, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30 am in St. Anthony's Shrine Church in Nanuet with burial to follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
