Robert Walter Hill

1952-2024

Robert Walter Hill passed at his residence in Yorktown, VA on October 9, 2024. He is survived by his siblings Richard F., Brian G., Barry J. Hill, and his sister Suzanne M. (Hill) Mcininch. Robert, known to all as Bob, was the son of Frank L. Hill and Cecilia J (Schilling) Hill.

Bob was born on April 1, 1952, and grew up in Tenafly NJ After completing his education at Tenafly H.S., Bob attended the Dunwoody Baking School in Minneapolis. He lived in Massachusetts where was a manager at Digital Equipment Corporation. Bob lived for a long time in Londonderry NH. He was always a careful saver and successfully retired at a relatively young age.

Bob enjoyed people, and he was always ready to volunteer his help. He managed the finances in the association where he lived and helped oversee various upgrade projects for his community. Bob eventually moved to an independent senior living community in Yorktown, VA to be near his sister who along with her husband helped him through day-to-day living activities for many years. Bob loved Bingo and became the resident “caller” in his retirement community. He also loved his family deeply and enjoyed talking on the phone each week to find out the family's latest news. He missed some family events in his final months and was anxious to see pictures of the events each time. He will be missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Parish on March 22, 2025 at 10am, 36 West Nyack Rd. Nanuet, NY. Burial to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
