Robert (Bob) C. Dupee, a longtime resident of Orangetown, died on January 4, 2012, 5 days before his 90th birthday. He was born on January 9, 1922 in Chicago, IL to George and Katherine (Windau) Dupee. Bob grew up in New Rochelle as the oldest of 7 children and graduated from Iona Prep. He attended Catholic University, Wash. D.C. Upon the outbreak of World War II, Bob left college and joined the US Marine Corps and served as a Marine Aviator in the Pacific Theater. Bob married Patricia (Pat) Bracken McKay on Dec 28, 1946. He was predeceased by Pat on Aug 7, 1996. Bob, Pat and their family moved to Blauvelt in 1956. He was a member of St. Catharine's Parish for 55 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus St Dominic's Council in Blauvelt, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Elks. In addition, he was avid fan of the New York Giants and Mets. One of Bob's most cherished pastimes was spending time with all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren which included his 6 children, Joe McKay (Liz), Ric McKay (Ellen, deceased), Bob Dupee (Mary Ann), Chris Dupee (Susie), Cathy Kidd (Larry) and Mary Pat Hebel (Mike); 21 grandchildren, April Anderson (Collin), Andy McKay (Melissa), Becky Mitchell (Mike), Matthew, Scott, Zach and Brooke McKay, Jennifer Mulligan (Mike), Kevin (Barbara) and John McKay (Kathy), Heather Cahill (Cal), Patrick Dupee (Marcelina) and Katie Galvin (Brian), Tommy (Lisa), Pete, Paul and Mark Dupee, Robin and Bobby Ruscillo, and Patricia and Melissa Hebel; and 18 great-grandchildren, Madeline, Libby, Brett and Gloria Anderson, Jacob, Cameron, Ashley and Christian McKay, Grace and Stephen Mitchell, Alexandria Mulligan, Kaitlyn, Korrina, Lily and Sean McKay, and Brendan, Matthew and Erin Cahill. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Gerosa and Sr. Diane Dupee of the Dominican Sisters of Hope. He is predeceased by his brothers, Dick, Al, Bud and Jon. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, 10am, at St. Catharine's Church, Blauvelt, NY, followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, West Nyack, NY.
