Peter Michael Ruiz-Sweeney

Peter Michael Ruiz (Sweeney), of New City, NY, passed away on March 9, 2013. Peter was born on April 17, 1989 in Manhasset, NY. Peter was raised in New City, NY. He was member of the Clarkstown Rec Soccer League, St. Augustine's CYO, and New City Little League. Peter was a graduate of South High School. He will be remembered as a smart, fun, loving, carefree person who was adored by all of his teachers and friends. Peter enjoyed reading and making people laugh. Peter always questioned everything and had a way of changing every situation into his favor.

Peter is survived by his parents Stephanie and Michael Sweeney; his grandmother Cecelia Sweeney; his brothers Christopher (Jessyca), Michael, Nicholas, Steven, Paul, and Gregory; two sisters Susanne, and Elizabeth; and one nephew, Christopher Michael. He is also survived by a half brother, Max, and a half sister, Sierra; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be today, 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, 10am, at St. Augustine's Church, New City. Private cremation to follow. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
