Michael J. Innella, age 78, of Pearl River, New York passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Michael was born October 9, 1943 on a U.S Army base in Macon, GA, where his father was stationed. He and his brothers, John and Billy were raised in the Bronx by his parents, Nancy and Mike. His family were active members of St. Dominick's Church where Michael served as an altar boy for several years. Michael went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy for three years including six months in Vietnam. He worked at Lipton Tea and TWA before acquiring his own Mobil service station business in Chester Heights, Westchester County. Later he went on to add City Island Exxon, as well as another Mobil station in Pelham, NY. He was an active Board member of the Service Station Dealers Association of Greater New York for more than four decades and served three terms as President. He lived, loved and worked in Westchester County for over 40 years with his wife and family, Rose and William, and was surrounded by an abundance of friends and other close family members. He was a most friendly and well respected businessman, known throughout the service station industry and within each community he lived and served.
A wake was held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY on Sunday April 3, 2022. On Monday April 4, 2022 a funeral mass was held at St. Augustine Church, New City, NY and the Internment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY, followed by a luncheon at Casaletto Restaurant, Elmsford, NY.
