After graduating from Clarkstown South in `79, Michael worked the last 34 years at the Commissary in West Point. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Augustine’s, New City and actively participated as an Usher each Sunday at the 7:30am Mass. For more than 30 yrs, Michael has been an active member of the Men’s AOH, Division 5, in Blauvelt, NY and for many years worked as an Election Inspector for the Board of Elections in Rockland County.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Bernadette Hartnett of New City. He is survived by his sister, Rosemarie (Hartnett) Boyle, brother-in-law Peter, and niece and nephews Jessica, Brian and Kevin as well as numerous cousins.
Visitations will be held Thursday, Sept 5th, from 4-8 pm at Higgins Funeral Home, Main St, New City with a prayer service at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Main St, New City on Sept 6th at 10am with interment to follow at Brook Church Cemetery.
