Mary A. Quinn

Mary A. Quinn, age 93, was born August 8, 1927 in the Bronxto Patrick and Mary (Driscoll) Ghaney. Mary passed August 7, 2021, one day shy of her 94th birthday. The only daughter with 3 brothers, “Sis” graduated from Cathedral High School. Maryand Thomas Quinn were married May 14, 1949 at The Church of the Holy Family. As their family grew, they moved to New City, NY and St. Augustine’s Church in 1958 to raise their four children. Mary enjoyed her time working as an aide in the Clarkstown Schools, and Town Hall. Besides her work, she was a member of the Catholic Big Sisters, and Red Hats. Mary’s greatest joy was spending time with her children, cousins and precious grandchildren. She loved playing cards and laughing with her incredible friends. She was well known for her humor, big heart, and being the “designated driver” for many of her friends later in life. She made everyone around her feel at home, and the world was a better place because of her. She will be missed each day by her devoted children, Martin (Mary) of Virginia, Thomas (Paula) of White Plains, and Robert (Karen) of New Jersey. Mary’s 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren will know that there is an Angel in Heaven, watching over them forever. Mary was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Bill, Bob, and Tom, daughter Sheila, and husband Tom. The family would also like to thank the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, Dowling Gardens, A&T Healthcare, and aids Tina and Domenica, for their excellent care and devotion to Mary in these last years of her life. Visiting will be August 10, 2021 4pm-8pm at MJ HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME 321 South Main Street New City NY 10956. A funeral mass will be at St. Augustines 10am On the 11th of August 2021.
