A young woman with big dreams and a heart of solid gold immigrated from the Philippines to the United States in the great New York area. Marietta had to leave behind her husband and little son behind to carve out a path for her and her family’s future in the U.S.
She started out as a humble registered nurse in the Bronx and bought her house in New City, where she continued to serve in St Barnabas Hospital and later, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. From there she continued to prosper in her career as a Registered Nurse providing those in need with great care and comfort.
She obtained her Master’s in Nursing from Westchester’s Pace University. She then became an adjunct professor for the nursing program at Rockland Community College, sharing her knowledge and wisdom with the aspiring nursing students.
A mother of two kids, she knew how to provide comfort to others around her. She was an amazing mother who was always there for everyone, especially to her family and friends. She was very loved by her family and friends and will be missed terribly.
She leaves behind her husband Guillermo, her two sons Kris and Kyle, and daughter-in-law Rachelle.
Our family will receive friends on Thursday Oct. 6th from 4-8pm, and Friday Oct. 7th from 5-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. The funeral service will be held at St. Anthony’s Church in Nanuet at Oct. 8, at 10am.
