Marie Solange Francois, of Monroe, NY passed away peacefully at Joe Raso Hospice, surrounded by family and friends Wednesday July 15, 2015 at the age of 71, Marie was born on May 5, 1944 in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and moved to New York with her three children. She was an amazing woman who has touched and help so many lives. In her heyday, Marie helped many local politicians get elected in Rockland County who she felt would truly help her community. Marie became a public figure when she championed for senior citizens with language barriers and opened up the first Multi-Culture Senior Citizens Center in Spring Valley, NY. Marie Solange Francois is survived by her loving children; Susie and Marc Francois and her granddaughter, Patrice Francois, and her siblings, Conceptia Dalencourt, Monique Lamy, Lucien Lamy and Marlene Lamy. She will greatly be missed by all. A graveside service will be held at 11:15 am at Brick Church Cemetery, 221 Brick Church Rd, Spring Valley, NY 10977, followed by post funeral reception at Hilton Garden Inn, 270 West Rt. 59, Nanuet NY.
