Marie Bean

Marie Ann Bean (Marion) of New City, NY, 86, went peacefully to Heaven on July 5th, 2023. Marion was born on July 21st, 1936 to Julia and Thomas Jordan. She moved from County Mayo in Ireland to the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her sister, Kathleen, and her brother, Michael.She graduated from Cathedral High School. She married the love of her life George Bean and they eventually relocated to Valley Cottage, NY.

The greatest joy in her life was her family. She was immensely proud of the family that she built. She is survived by her two children, Karen (Bean) McCombs and Robert Bean, her five grandchildren, Casey, Sheila, Erin, Molly, Bobby, and her brother Michael.

Marion is also remembered for the many close friendships that she built throughout her life. She was a friend to all and was a constant support to those in need.

She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Kathleen, her son-in-law James McCombs and her beloved husband George, who she was looking forward to being reunited with in Heaven.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9th from 2-5 p.m. at Michael Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass will be held on Monday, July 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, Congers, followed by burial at Gethsemane Cemetery, Congers.
