Our beloved sister Lynne Valentine Byrne passed away on October 24th, 2019. She was born on November 1, 1947 to Evelyn and Thomas Byrne of Mt. Vernon, New York. She is a graduate of The Ursuline School, New Rochelle, New York; Marymount College of Fordham University of NY and Pace University where she earned a Master’s Degree in Business. Lynne served as mentor and counselor for over 40 years at Pace University, rising to the position of Associate Dean of the Lubin School of Business. Lynne was a tireless advocate for her students and women’s rights. Our sister leaves in her wake many students, friends and associates that she touched over her lifespan. As a citizen of New York City for over 50 years; the city she loved so much our sister enjoyed the various cultural museums, Broadway shows, the Carnegie Hill section of Manhattan and Central Park. Lynne is survived by her remaining siblings Tom, Lisa, Michael, Jeffery and Laura, her sisters by choice Sharon and Marianne, nephews Justin, Michael Jr., James, Patrick, Sean, Billy and Hendrik as well as niece Lauren. Our sister touched many lives, always with a kind hand and an open heart. We will miss her terribly as well as all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass and Eulogy service will on Tuesday, 10am, at St. Augustine’s Church, New City, followed by a life celebration at the River Court, New City.
