Kathleen M. Van Nostrand

Kathleen Van Nostrand ( née Doorhy), 59, of Stony Point, NY, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Kathleen was a lifelong Rockland County resident, raised in Westwood, NJ. She was born on June 13, 1961, in Bronx NY, to Patricia and Thomas Doorhy. She graduated from Westwood High school in 1978. She married the love of her life, Richard, in 1985. They went on to have two children, one girl, and one boy.

She was a lifelong employee at United Parcel Service(UPS), beginning her employment in September 1978. She was a dedicated soldier and truly loved her job, her drivers, and all her co-workers. She was blessed to have a strong work family behind her everyday.

She enjoyed watching baseball games, summer trips to the beach and boardwalk, and family trips to aquariums. She was an avid New York Yankee fan but her greatest joys came from her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kari Van Nostrand; her son, Teddy, her mother, Patricia Doorhy; brother, Thomas Doorhy Jr. ; Aunt Veronica Kimball; Uncle William Porter; and best friend Colleen Barry Jimick; her many cousins, friends and dozens of co- workers.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard, and father, Thomas Doorhy Sr.

She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home 321 Main Street New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, 11:15am at The Church of the Presentation, West Saddle River Road Upper Saddle River, NJ , followed by interment at Brick church cemetery, Spring valley, NY.
