Joycelyn Elizabeth Samaroo

Joycelyn Samaroo of Yonkers, NY, 85 years old passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 12, 2022. Joyce was a longtime resident of Yonkers, New York. She was born on April 5th 1937 to Chuni Clarence Lall and Czarina Rose Lall in Georgetown, Guyana, S.A. She married her forever love, Philip Roy Samaroo on September 16th, 1961. Joyce and Philip were successful poultry business owners in Guyana. After relocating to the US in 1976, they became immensely successful in real estate in New York City. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and weekends in Atlantic City. Joycelyn is survived by her husband Philip, and her daughters Deirdre and husband Andrew and Denise and husband William and her son Keith and wife Kim. She also raised her brother’s kids, Sharon and husband Paul, Shelly and husband Gerry and Neil. Her greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandchildren Julian, Danielle, Cole, Paula, Katarina, Brooke, Tyler and Kayleigh. Her brother, Clarence Lall is her surviving sibling and she was predeceased by her siblings Sheila, Royston, Arnold and George.

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 20th from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City NY. Mass will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 1pm at The Sacred Heart Chapel at The Dominican Convent, 175 Rt 340 Sparkill, NY 10976.
