Joseph Dowd of Nanuet, NY, 88 years old, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024. Joe was born on September 23, 1935 to Nellie and Thomas Dowd. Joe loyally served on the Fire Department of New York. He is survived by his children Timothy (Kathryn), James, and Susan (Christopher). Joe is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Maryann (nee Murphy). He will be missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 4-8 pm at Higgins Funeral Home
in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 10am, at St.
Anthony’s Church, Nanuet, followed by interment.
