My name is Gregg Lima, a retired teacher & former colleague of Jack Murphy. I only recently learned of his passing. Jack & I taught for many years at Clarkstown South High School. I have many, many  fond memories of Jack. He was an incredibly intelligent, articulate & extremely funny. Aside from his extraordinary mathematical skills & teaching ability, he was a consummate musician who performed at faculty parties & school events. We shared many lunch periods & I loved listening to his stories, always poignant & at times very, very funny. Although I hadn't seen Jack since he retired, I did learn that he had some health issues with which he was dealing. I extend my most heartfelt condolences to his family about whom he always spoke so highly. Jack was a great colleague & friend who will be fondly missed.
