John Mottolese

John Mottolese, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2016. John was born in New York, NY on May 19, 1923 to Joseph and Maria (Pace) Mottolese. Following high school, he served as a corporal in the US Army Air Corp. John owned and operated F&J Interiors in New City for over 30 years. He was very active and proud to be a member of the New City community. John was a gracious and devoted family man who always put his family first.

John Mottolese is predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Sabina Mottolese. He is survived by his loving daughter, Diane (Robert) O’Keeffe of New City, a son, John, loving granddaughters, Dawn ( Jason) O’Keeffe, Maria (Thomas) Nolan, and Gina Mottolese, a grandson, John, and adoring great granddaughters, Dianna, Caitlyn, and Jacqueline O’Keeffe.

A visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City on Tuesday, September 6 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Shrine in Nanuet the following day at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John Mottolese’s name may be made to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
