John A. DeVito of Congers New York passed away on May 22, 2012 after a long illness. John was born in Mt. Vernon, NY to Philomina and Paul DeVito on Jan 2, 1936. He married his loving wife Connie on April 12, 1959 and shared over fifty years together and raised two children until her passing on August 20, 2004. He was employed by MRC in Congers, NY for over 15 years and retired as a shop supervisor. John was an active member of St Paul's Church Congers, NY, and Congers #1 Senior Citizen. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Grass Hoppers Golf Club.
John is survived by his two children Lori DeVito of Valley Cottage, NY and John and wife Alice of Pomona, NY, three grandchildren Julie, T.J. and Justine, sister Dana Calderoni of Congers, NY, brother Joseph DeVito of Palm City, FL, sister-in-law Marie Salvati of Congers, NY, and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother Paul in 2000 of Washingtonville, NY.
Family will receive friends on Saturday & Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Higgins Funeral Home New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday 10AM St. Paul's Church Congers, NY. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery Hartsdale, NY.
