Jeanne Marie Natale (nee Kerrigan), passed away November 5, 2013 in her home in New City with her family at her side. She was born and raised in Wilkes Barre, PA, daughter of John and Winifred Kerrigan.She was a New City resident for nearly 60 years. She was married to New City Fire Commissioner Joseph Natale who predeceased her in 1986. Together they enjoyed many years of social activities and travel adventures. She graduated from Misricordia College, received a Masters Degree from NYU and taught in the Clarkstown School District for many years. Jeanne Marie was a parishioner of St. Augustine's and a member of the choir, and also active in a number of associations including the Street School Seniors and the Retired Teachers Association. Her hobbies included doll making and she was an avid reader. Jeanne Marie is survived by her children, Wynne Anne Spano and husband Joseph, Joseph Natale; Cathleen Whitmore Famular and husband Walter, and 9 cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Whitmore, Christopher Whitmore, Jennifer Spano (Carey) and her husband Ryan, Anthony Spano, Robert Spano, James Spano, Joseph Spano, Alexandra Natale and Nicolette Natale. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Kerrigan and was predeceased by her brother Jack. She was lovingly referred to as "Auntie M" in cherished relationships with three generations of nieces and nephews.Family will receive visitors on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, in New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 10am at St. Augustine's Church. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association , 255 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, NY 10901.
