Hi J, it’s me Ash. It’s taken me a long time to get here and write this note to you. The time we had together was short and intense, but I can still feel your love, light and spirit. Sure, we were troubled teenagers… but we were troubled teenagers together. I am grateful for the experiences we shared. I am grateful for the love we shared. And, today, I am grateful for the pain we shared. You probably don’t know it, but it has helped shape me into who I am and I continue to heal through it. For that, I must thank you. I trust that your light has been shining through everyone you’ve touched and will always shine through us. I want you to know that I am sorry, that I forgive our faults which caused us pain and that I love you. Keep shining papi.

J. I remember when we met we worked right across from each other at the gas station. We had a full on munchkin war across the room once it got late enough that less people would come in and disrupt it lol. I remember the first time we hung out I just drove around for hours and we talked and talked. Or when I got in that car accident by Gilligans and by chance you were walking right by and laughed me all the way to your house so I didn’t think it was a big deal. You were always so great so open to life and what it had. Some of my best and most important conversations were with you, and they were always about God. I couldn’t at the time, but now I understand compassion and forgiveness and love a little bit more since I’ve been blessed to have you. I love you, I miss you, you’re in my thoughts. I used to love watching Jason play when he was in Figures for Her...they had a song called lost on lakeside that was my favorite...Not to mention the many memories I have with Conar, Brian and Jason...Jason was my date to my best friend's sweet 16 at Sidewinders in Fishkill. When he got dropped off to my house all dressed up I remeber thinking wow, we will be best dressed couple there. On the way, my mom got pulled over and we sat in the backseat laughing and mocking the cop with jokes about smelling bacon. He had my mom laughing, the coo couldn't even help but to smirk. We made our grand enterance but I know it was all eyes on his smile. We spent the night dancing and talking about everything. He always had a way of making me laugh through the pain. I think that's what made this "easier" bc I know he would want nothing but all his friends and family to remeber him laughing and smiling and that's exactly what comes to mind. I wish he could have had more time with us but the memories will last a lifetime. Though it has been a few years since I saw him last, he will always have a special place in my heart as a great friend. He came into my life during a time I was struggling myself and he held my hand through it guided me with a smile. It's hard to believe it's already been a year and I know it's hard on his family and friends but I hope they take comfort in the fact that he was so loved and cherished by his friends and the hardships aside, they raised a beautiful soul that watches over us all. RIP Jason, your light still shines brighter than ever 💗

I met you 6 years ago and never thought once I'd be writing a memory about you.. I remember how your presence could light the entire room. I miss you more than words could describe. You weren't just a great friend but an amazing god father. I remember when I had Kimmy you were the first one to come visit. You waited in the waiting room till the nurse would let you in. You were the only one who stayed with me till I finally fell asleep. You always knew how to calm me down, reminded me everything was going to be okay. You always put everyone else before yourself. One of the last times we spoke you told me how tired you were, but I told you you're stronger than this demon you've been battling. I wish I could go back, I wouldn't have left your side. I would have made sure connar was with you at all times instead of being with me. I miss you so much Jay. I miss seeing the way you would dance and play with Kimmy, She misses you so much too, she has your picture right next to her bed, she kisses you goodnight every night. I miss hearing you tell me you're proud of me, I know you would be really proud now. I feel selfish for wishing you were still here with us, I know you're finally at peace and where the Lord has always wanted you to be. I promise I will always keep your memory alive. Till we meet again, I love you.

Jason was always a lot of fun to be around. He never lied to me and was always up front. There aren’t a lot of people like that in the world.

For the past year I have prayed that peace and comfort sustain those who sought the arms of the Lord. Though you are missed immensely there is somber solace knowing that you are now in the arms of the Lord. Dearest Jason I miss and love you and know that one day we will meet again ....Grandma

On August 2, 2018 I intend to celebrate Jason’s immortality. I say this because for the past year I have carried his Mass card during every power walk and strength training session. Jason walks with me and gives me the spirit and stamina of a rock. And, for each and every glass I raise, I say his name. Jason is immortal now and to pay him homage and grace seems like the right thing to do. Until we meet again JJ .... Aunt D 

I remember the trip to the jersey shore where you played with your God daughter on the beach. You got down to her level to play and she was so happy . Love and miss you Uncle Jay. Xo

that you will be remembered for...
I remembered doing your intake at Long Island Teen Challenge and how the next few days were very stressful for you. Although you left pre-maturely, l always knew you were marked for destiny, purpose and impact. Today,  as we commenmorate your homegoing, l am humbled and privileged to have briefly met you. The quiet moments you spent in devotions, your smiles and laughter are impressionable. And although it may seem hard right now for those you have left behind, it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. Rest on my brother until we meet again.

All I can think of His is smile. He just had a way of making feel very good. I love that he was loving. Thinking of it now and it is making me smile. I didn’t have a chance to spend a lot of time with him but when I was around him it was if we knew each other for a lifetime. I always felt welcomed around him. 

When I think of Jason one memory always comes to my mind.  That is the time when Jason,  Julian and myself were all hanging outside of Julian's house it was near late at night when a car was driving down the road when I noticed soon as the car went under a street light a cat to be sitting on the trunk of the car I called it out and only Julian was able to see it,  Jason till the last day I saw him still did not believe in what we had saw haha I can only hope he was able to watch that moment unfold one last time before crossing over...  Faded away from this side of existence but never our hearts and memories until we meet again rest easy Jay bears 

Jason Brown was close to me as a brother. He was my best friend for almost 15 years  , we did almost did everything together. This year without him , has been one of the toughest years of my life. Everything is completely different now. He impacted my life so much , but everyday I think of him and try to life on for him because I know thas what he would want me to do . To this every day I tell everyone that he is my brother. He was a great young man and had a great heart , and I know one day I will see him again. But one if our great memories is last year , when he took me to a Yankees Game , we had at great time . 

Jason loved music, as did I.  He was probably one of the best rappers I've ever seen in my life. We used to rap nonstop anytime we met up at our friend Mike King's house. To this day I can admit I'm still not as good as he was. I always felt closer to him than we probably were, through the music. Im always going to remember the day I met my match in rapping lol and miss him forever. Rest up until we meet again  Jason (stay gold)  brown 💪♥ ♥ 

I will always remember Jay as my big baby brother. It’s so hard to pick just one memory because Jason gave me almost 20 years of awesome things to choose from. When I was around 14-15 years old a boy broke my heart right before a dance I had wanted go to, to make me feel better Jason brought over a boombox to my parents driveway played a cd he had burned and slow danced with me in the road. It’s one of my favorite memories I still tear up when I think about it. As an adult he was seen as Uncle Jason by my son who loves him very much Jay always made time for my boy and played with him the two of them together was such a joy. I know I’ll never forget this amazing young man I love him like family and miss him more then I can even explain.

I remember when it would be the end of the day in 8th grade and when I found out uncle Jason was coming to pick me up I was so happy because he would always talk to me and ask me how my day went and I told him my day in detail as if he were a friend at school and he always gave me good advice and how to handle things. Uncle Jason listened to music with me while we wait for ean we ended up not being able to get him at firsts because he forgot his  ID  And he need that so we could pick him up from school, I don’t remember the exactly what happened but we did have to wait for him instead. I liked that because me and uncle Jason had time to talk to each other because around this time uncle Jason was always at school or work, so times like these where very special to me and Ean. When we got He his face was to happy the conversation ended up becoming about car we still had a good time together.

I have so many beautiful memories with you Jay enough to fill the years that we will be apart, but never enough to fill the void that your absence has left us.  Dad and I think of you everyday, sometimes it feels like your still here.  I would wait up for you to get home from Lincoln Tech knowing you’d be hungry and ready to make whatever you wanted to eat.  You’d walk through the door with that big smile of yours  and I’d cook you up a three course meal.  I remember watching you as you ate thinking how you’d grown into such an awesome young man.  I never dreamed I’d be writing memories of you.  I was busy imagining you successful, married with your own family and thinking how I’d miss you walking in the door but grateful you had dreams you were working on.  I now find myself thinking of what work God has given you in heaven to do.  God how I miss you, you were the longest to stay home with me and dad, though I know you wanted more than anything to be on your own.  How you hated when I knocked on your door in the morning.  You even posted on FB about it lol.  Never thought I’d be grateful for Facebook but I am because I can see what you were thinking on a given day and it was good to see you had so many positive thoughts I would even say some were prophetic.  I can’t believe you will be gone almost a year in less than 2 weeks. They’ve been the sadest  days of my life pushing through because I need to continue to love and remember the ones still here.  I’ve never been closer to any of your friends since you left They’ve been such a help to me.  They keep me busy praying for them that they find their way through life.  You were a good friend Jay remembered fondly by your friends.  I always thought you were too giving but grateful that you were.  I’ll be walking to break the stigma of addiction and keeping my head up high because I was and forever will be proud of the man you are.  No words could express how much you are loved and missed Or how broken our hearts are. 

I remember one of the Thanksgiving outreaches at brick town gospel, he and Jessica volunteered to help, all I kept thinking of that day was his smile. He was so quiet but his smile said it all, it lit up the room

Hey Jay, it's your sister. I know you can't read this or even hear me when i speak to you, but i know you are well because you are present with the Lord. There is not a day that goes by I don't think of you and our time as brother and sister. They will always be apart of me and tattoo on my heart. I am working on something in memory of you. I want to make it great because you have always been just that...great! You had many talents, from singing, to playing the guitar and later trying out the piano. You knew how to write, you were always so good with words. Funny does't describe your humor, always so quick with the punch lines like it was natural for you to make those around you laugh. I really admire you and i am so grateful that each day you lived you knew how i felt about you. You are by far the best lil brother a sister could ask for. Your addiction took away but it never took away how we felt for each other and how we counted on each other.  I miss you like a fat kid love cake. I miss you, everything is different since you have been gone. Life is sad without you in it, but i promise i am not always sad, it's just for a moment because I know you are well. A year is coming up since you passed and it hurts to have to even think of it, i am working on something special in memory of you.  I love you and when i cry over loosing you, i only cry to relieve myself of the temporary sorrow of not having you here, But i know the truth of God's promises and again i know you are well! Till we see each other again lil brother. Love your big sister.

Jason is and will forever be in our hearts, he brought nothing to us but joy and laughter, he is now the brightest star in Heaven, we will miss him dearly, but we are comforted in the knowledge that we will see him again...Thank you Lord for giving us this great Gift as a Son....His loving Parents

Jason was an amazing guy that I've known since i was 17. Ever since the first day we met, we've been great friends. There's been point in our lives where we would hang out for weeks at a time and go on vacations. I, at 23, have never lost a friend closer to me than Jason, and this is very difficult to overcome. My prayers go out to Jason, Jason's family, His girlfriend Jessica, and his other close friends. I will never forget the times we shared together and i feel blessed to have been a part of his life. Rest in peace to my "brother from another mother" Jason Jon Brown.
