Janet E. Fowler

Janet E. Fowler, 85, formerly of Tarrytown and New City, passed away on September 28, 2016 at Wingate at Beacon Nursing Home. She was married in 1952 to Harold Fowler in Tarrytown, NY, where they lived until 1958 when they moved to New City.

Janet worked as a secretary for Rockland County Trips bus office from 1974 until her retirement in the 1980’s. She was an avid animal lover, she enjoyed camping, and roller skating. Janet will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy came from her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 2004, her son Dale in 1999, and her grandson Jeremiah Fowler-Cox. She is survived by her children; James, Robert (Maria), Wayne (Barbara), Bill (Carolyn), Susan (Andrew) Boland, Carolyn (Nicholas) Dauria, 15 grandchildren; Avita, Michelle Boland, Kristine Boland, Elizabeth Boland, Shannon (Tony) Boland- Rogone, Melissa (Danny) Fowler- Smith, Jacob Cox, Rebecca Fowler-Dauria, Amanda Fowler-Dauria, Danielle Fowler (Alex Adamo), Wayne Fowler Jr., Jacqueline Fowler, Chelsea Fowler, Tiffany Fowler, and Quinn Fowler, and her great-granddaughter Violet Fowler-Smith. She is also survived by her brother George and his wife Dora.

The family will receive friends at Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Saturday, October 1, and Sunday October 2, from 6-9pm. Burial will be on Monday, October 3, at 11am Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
